You are spot on!

Having recently experienced 8 accommodations in 9 nights, lack of towel bars was my number one complaint.

The one place that had it absolutely right, amongst the fancy B&B's and boutique hotels, was a Shilo Inn.

My number two complaint was a lack of desk/table and chair where one could use a laptop. Crouching over a cutesy little wrought iron and glass occasional table or reclining on a bed with my laptop on my stomach just don't work for me.

Also, it continues to amaze me that a significant number of hostelries believe that two people traveling together will always share a suitcase. Two foldable luggage racks per room! Please!
